Snorkeling or snorkel gear

Snorkeling or snorkel gear
Snorkeling or snorkel gear is really quite simple in concept and easily acquired in almost any dive shop. It’s available online through many locations and can be rented or purchased in most resort areas that feature water sports. Snorkeling gear consists of only three major items, the swim fins, the snorkel (breathing tube) and the face mask. You can add peripheral items such as gloves, wet suits, fin boots or snorkeling inflatable vests if you like, but not of those items are needed to enjoy the sport of snorkeling for the first time. The swim fins are made of a somewhat flexible man made material which amplifies the motion of your feet and legs and allows you to move more freely through the water. It’s very important to find a swim fin which provides the correct fit on your foot. A fin which is too large will continually slip off and may result in losing the fin. A loose fin can also rub on the foot and cause blisters or calluses. On the other hand, a swim fin that is too small is hard to put on and can also rub the foot unnecessarily. The next item of interest in the snorkeling gear is the snorkel or breathing tube. This item is also made of man-made materials. It is a long tube with a float or valve at one end which allows you to get air through the tube while lying face down in the water. When the upper end of the tube drops below the surface of the water, the valve shuts it off so that no water will get into the face mask or breathing tube itself. The snorkel is designed to fit into the left side of the face mask. Finally, there is the face mask which some consider to be the most important item in the snorkel gear. The face mask consists of a skirt or seal which fits to the face. Sealing can be helped by the application of petroleum jelly to the face in the area where the mask will fit. The mask must fit snugly, but not painfully so without extensive area between the face and the view plate, which can lead to difficulties in pressure equalization. The strap to the face mask fits high on the back of the head for maximum security. Taken together, these items constitute all the equipment needed for enjoying snorkeling..

Small business credit crunch

Small business credit crunch
When we look at the state of the economy as it sits right now, it is no wonder that the small business be suffering from the credit crunch. The small business owner is struggling top stay afloat at a time when the banks and lending institutions have instituted far stricter lending guidelines that need to be met in order to secure funds. This is making it increasingly more difficult for them to get money the need to pay for supplies and other such needs for there businesses to thrive. Statistics are showing that the small businesses across the country are showing that 2/3 of them have felt a negative impact as a direct result from the credit crunch. Small businesses need to be keeping more money aside for the future needs of their companies as they are almost certain to have difficulties in securing loans of any sort from banks or other lending institutions. Those businesses that do find one willing to lend them the money will most definitely be paying far more in interest than in the past. Statistics are showing that there is a 30% decrease in the number of loans that have been approved in the last 12 months. This is a huge hit for the small business owner. When they are unable to secure the funds that they need to keep things running they ultimately have no other option other than to close the doors. Once again this adds to the unemployment scenario and the cycle resumes once again. The small business credit crunch has seemed to have hit the young business person or the minority and female entrepreneur the hardest. They having not yet being an established business, lenders are far more leery of parting with money to these business owners. The best option for these owners is to save where they can early on in their business, but not in the area of advertising. That would most definitely be the most fatal thing that a person could do. Make sure that the advertising is the one thing that is maintained when it comes to cutbacks within the company. Every company needs advertising in order to succeed that is just rule of thumb. Small business are going to be put through a huge struggle through the time of the credit crunch, but as long as they think about the things they do and buy on a daily basis they can stay viable. It may take a lot of work but it can be done. All it takes is some hard work and determination.

Snorkeling dominican republic

Snorkeling dominican republic
The history of the Dominican Republic is alive with maritime stories, ships, sea and sand. Likewise, the waters surrounding this beautiful and luxurious tourist paradise teem with life. Dominican Republic is not as overdeveloped as some of the other islands in the Caribbean; therefore if you prefer solitude to shopping and peace rather than people, you may want to consider the benefits of snorkeling in the Dominican Republic. PUERTO PLATA This small city is one of the best beach destinations on the island. The beach is stunning, with clear turquoise waters and warm white sands. The colonial feel of Puerto Plata adds to the enjoyment of the area. Just offshore are the bright coral reefs where the snorkeling opportunities are unsurpassed. The number and variety of fish make for wonderful viewing opportunities. Snorkelers from all over the world make this area the destination for their snorkeling in the Dominican Republic. Puerto Plata is also an enjoyable town for the friendly people. They congregate at the plaza and you can often find an open air amateur concert going on during warm summer evenings. BOCA CHILCA Not far from Santo Domingo is a beach popular with families because the lagoon behind the coral reef is very shallow. Snorkeling on the fringes of the reef is popular for beginning surfers. The shallowness of the waters make the marine life easy to see for the snorkeler, and the reef fringes provide hiding places to search out and view for the more timid creatures of the deep. JUAN DOLIO This beach is about an hour’s drive from Santo Domingo and offers a variety of water sports including snorkeling. Since there are also swimmers, sailors windsurfers and boating enthusiasts using the same area, it can become a trifle crowded at times, but is still an opportunity to view marine life while not being too far from hotel accommodations. Snorkeling in Dominican Republic tends to be more of a privately arranged excursion. There are a few tour excursions around the area with prime viewing locations for snorkelers, but many choose to go their own way and find the sites themselves. Dominican Republic has so many activities going on in addition to snorkeling that you may be temped to snorkel in the morning shop in the afternoon and dance the night away. Because of its quieter, less developed locations, Dominican Republic offers an enjoyable change of pace for a snorkeling vacation.
